Tata Motors wants to grow its EV charging network. The company aims to expand from 22,000 to over 1 lakh public chargers by 2030. It wants to reach 2,000+ towns and cities, with fast chargers placed where people need them most.
To reduce range anxiety, Tata Motors is building Mega Chargers. These chargers, with 120 kW to 400 kW power, will offer fast charging across India. The first 10 Mega Chargers, built with ChargeZone and Statiq, are already active on highways and in cities. The company plans to scale this network to 1,000+ sites.

Under its Open Collaboration 2.0, Tata Motors will add 30,000 public chargers by 2027. It will work with charge point operators and oil companies. The plan includes 500 Mega Chargers and multi-bay fast chargers for all EV brands, not just Tata.
Tata Motors also wants to grow home charging. Today, 1.6 lakh home chargers are installed. By 2030, the number will cross 10 lakh. The devices will help EV users charge with ease at home.
India has 25,202 public EV chargers today. But infrastructure still lags behind markets like China and Europe. Tata Motors sees that the early EV adopter phase is ending. Now, mass adoption needs better charging support.
To fund these plans, Tata Motors has committed ₹16,000–18,000 crore for the EV business between FY25 and FY30. The company believes that strong products, fast chargers, and wide access will help mainstream EVs in India.
