Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (LMML), has launched an electric three-wheeler named Udo under the urban passenger mobility segment. It is reported that the company has added a new model to its electric portfolio, for urban-based transport operators exploring battery-powered vehicles. The company has launched the product with specific battery, range, and efficiency attributes.
Mahindra LMML has launched the Udo electric three-wheeler for the urban passenger segment. It features an 11.7 kWh battery pack. The range at which the company claims 200 km of distance can be covered in one charge of the battery under normal conditions. It records an energy consumption figure of 44 Wh per km. This value, in a practical sense, can be used to determine the operating cost over a set route for users of the vehicle.
The gradability of the Mahindra Udo electric three-wheeler is 25.8%. This is essential for its performance on inclined surfaces such as flyovers on highways or uphill city roads. This parameter is important for city driving, where dense traffic is a common condition.
The general range of electric three-wheelers lies within short to medium intra-city movements. Metrics like battery output, consumption, and ability to tackle inclines qualify their use for passengers.
The passenger seating cabin economically designed. The passenger seating plan skips luxury-oriented amenities in favor of functional space utilization. Pragmatism, balance, and usability, currently favored throughout passenger electric three-wheeler vehicle design, continue to influence such features.
Urban passenger carriers tend to prioritize durability and ease of maintenance. Udo also follows a similar structural approach, as can be expected in carriers of this type.
The Udo has been launched at a price of Rs. 3,58,999. Hence, it can be said that this is within the market range of three-wheelers running on electricity. As such, while purchasing a product from this segment, one would be taking factors such as the battery’s capacity, range, and the cost.
With the introduction of Udo, there is one more addition in the growing list of electric three-wheeler vehicles, for which there is still significant participation from renowned automakers. In developing transport infrastructure using electric vehicles, these vehicles are still focusing on reliability, efficiency, and costs.
