Euler Motors, Jio-bp Join Hands to Boost EV Charging Network for Commercial Fleets

A Memorandum of Understanding between Euler Motors, a major automotive original equipment manufacturer, and Jio-bp, a traditional energy player, has been signed, which should have a major impact on the charging infrastructure for EVs used in commercial vehicles in the country.

This comes after Euler Motors launched more options for commercial EVs, such as the newly announced Euler TURBO EV 1000 Fast Charge and Euler Storm EV Fast Charge. At the same time, Jio-bp, a division of Reliance BP Mobility Limited with access to thousands of charging points across the country, will also bring the strength of its charging network and operational expertise to the partnership.

As agreed in the MoU, both parties will focus on rolling out charging stations in regions with high needs and high fleet and logistics activities, where demand is high and vehicles need to be up and running at all times. Both parties will work together in engaging fleet operators with high needs and interests in installing charging stations.

The charging infrastructure provided by Jio-bp in India covers approximately 7,000 charge points in over 1,000 locations, which includes high-power charging equipment like 480 kW charge points with liquid-cooled connectors. It is designed to support a wide range of electric vehicle usage, from light commercial vehicles to larger freight types.

From the perspective of Euler Motors, one increasingly important aspect in the decision-making process for the electrification of fleets is accessible charging infrastructure.
