Routematic, the AI-driven corporate commute platform, has announced the reduction of 8,348 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions in 2025 on National Pollution Control Day. It said the reduction is attributed to AI-optimized routing, shared mobility programs, and adoption of electric vehicles across all its operations.

The savings in emissions took place across big business hubs of India. Delhi-NCR led the pack with 2,175 tonnes of CO₂ reduced. Hyderabad followed with 2,007 tonnes, Pune contributed 1,915 tonnes and Bengaluru 1,651 tonnes. Chennai and Mumbai recorded 494 tonnes and 107 tonnes respectively.

Today, Routematic manages more than 350,000 daily employee rides in IT, financial services, and other enterprise verticals. The platform is operational across over 25 cities and presents one of the largest corporate transport networks in the country.

The announcement comes as India's urban centers continue to face significant air quality challenges. Transportation produces nearly 14 percent of the nation's CO₂ emissions, with road vehicles representing roughly 90 percent of that total.

"Employee commutes remain one of the most overlooked contributors to urban pollution in India," said Sriram Kannan, Founder and CEO at Routematic. He further said the combination of Artificial Intelligence, shared mobility, and electric vehicles can enable large corporations to provide quantifiable climate benefits without compromising on a safe and reliable employee commute.

This sustainability milestone follows Routematic's Series C funding round, announced in May 2025, which secured $40 million from climate-focused investors Fullerton Carbon Action Fund and Shift4Good. The company will further scale up its electric vehicle fleet, enhance its AI capabilities, and scale its 24/7 Operations Command Centres.

Routematic also aims to increase female driver representation within its network. The platform supports over 300 enterprise clients, offering round-the-clock transport solutions. Its services include corporate mobility technology, transport-as-a-service, and fleet operations management.
