Kolkata airport gets 4 EV charging points

At the airport in Kolkata, four new EV charging stations were inaugurated on Tuesday, bringing the total to more than 50 EV public charging stations in the city. Four EV chargers (DC-CCS2 and single-gun GB/T chargers) were installed across from the old terminal and went into service on Tuesday.

In addition to making electric car drivers' lives easier, installing EV charging infrastructure in public parking lots shows a consistent commitment to environmental preservation. According to airport director C Pattabhi, we are pleased to work with Tata Power to make Kolkata a cleaner and more ecologically aware city. According to Virendra Goyal, head of business development for EV charging at Tata Power, the company's partnership with the Kolkata airport would enable it further create a reliable EV charging network in the city.

As per a statement from Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Ltd, much consideration went into choosing the locations for these charging stations, giving commuter EV customers who go to the airport or nearby priority.

According to Kolkata Airport Director C Pattabhi, "The development of EV charging infrastructure in public parking spaces not only improves convenience for electric car users but also reflects a persistent commitment to environmental conservation."

With more than 50 public and semi-public charging stations placed around the city, Tata Power has already made notable progress in Kolkata. With a market share of about 60%, it strengthens its position as the biggest EV charging point provider in India, according to the statement.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the installation of four EV charging points at Kolkata Airport is a commendable step towards a greener future. It serves as a call to action for other airports and organizations to embrace sustainability and contribute to the global effort of mitigating climate change. By collectively adopting similar initiatives, we can pave the way for a more sustainable and eco-friendly world.
