Ashok Leyland sold 15,484 vehicles in May 2025, up 15% from 13,421 units in April. The rise follows a month-on-month decline and was driven mainly by the M&HCV segment.
In this category, sales reached 10,282 units, up 17% from 8,760 in April. Trucks led the rise, climbing to 7,606 units, which is a 20% increase over April’s 6,354. Bus sales also improved, going from 2,406 to 2,676 units, a 10% gain.
The LCV segment also rose slightly. It recorded 5,202 units in May, 4% higher than 5,016 units in April. Although the increase was modest, it followed a low sales base from the previous month.

Tata Motors Sales Decline 8.6% in May 2025
Domestic sales totaled 14,534 units, up 14% from 12,754 units in April. Exports rose too, reaching 950 units, compared to 667 units in the prior month.
Over April and May, Ashok Leyland sold 28,905 units, nearly flat compared to 28,953 units in the same period last year. While year-on-year growth remains steady, the month-on-month jump shows strong recovery in core segments, especially trucks.
The improved performance in the M&HCV category, especially in truck sales, reflects renewed demand in the infrastructure and logistics sectors—key markets for Ashok Leyland’s products. As the company continues to navigate a dynamic market environment, May’s results offer encouraging signs of stabilization and growth ahead.
