Tata Motors has marked 21 years of its small commercial vehicle, the Tata Ace, with the launch of the new Ace Gold+ XL. The model arrives as an extension of the existing Ace range, aimed at improving load capacity and efficiency in last-mile transport.

First introduced in 2005, the Tata Ace created a new segment in India’s commercial vehicle space. Over the years, it has remained widely used for intra-city cargo movement. According to the company, the vehicle has built a base of over 26 lakh owners, with consistent demand across small businesses and independent operators.

The newly introduced Ace Gold+ XL focuses on higher payload and better utilization. It features an 8-foot load body and a payload capacity of 1 tonne. These changes allow operators to carry more goods per trip, which may improve trip efficiency in dense urban logistics.

Under the hood, the vehicle uses a 700cc turbocharged diesel engine. It produces 22 PS of power and 55 Nm of torque. The engine also incorporates Lean NOx Trap (LNT) technology, which removes the need for Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). This setup is expected to reduce maintenance requirements and simplify daily operations.

Tata Motors states that the model has been developed to lower the total cost of ownership. Reduced downtime and simpler emission control systems may help drivers maintain consistent usage, especially in high-frequency delivery cycles.

Alongside the launch, the company has introduced the ‘Ikkis Saal Bemisaal’ campaign. The initiative highlights the role of small business owners who have relied on the Ace platform over the years. It also includes customer-focused benefits, such as financial support of up to ₹21,000 for women entrepreneurs.

The Ace Gold+ XL becomes part of Tata Motors’ broader small commercial vehicle lineup, which includes models like Ace, Ace Pro, Intra, and Yodha. These vehicles cover a payload range from 750 kg to 2 tonnes and are offered in multiple fuel options, including diesel, petrol, CNG, bi-fuel, and electric.

Support for the new model comes through Tata Motors’ service network of over 2,500 outlets across India. The company also offers its Sampoorna Seva 2.0 program, which provides lifecycle support for vehicle owners.

With this launch, Tata Motors continues to strengthen its presence in the last-mile delivery segment, a sector that has seen steady growth due to rising demand for faster and more flexible logistics.91Trucks is the place to go for all things commercial vehicles.
