A vehicle is more than just a way of transportation for people in India. Most of the vehicles in India use conventional petrol. However, conventional petrol over a period leaves engines with harmful deposits, causing reduction in mileage.
For dealing with this problem, Jio-bp Energy has introduced its upgraded petrol fueled by ACTIVE Technology, which not only safeguards the engine but also cleans it. This leads to not only a smoother engine but better mileage along with more kilometers in every passing year.
Petrol at Jio-bp with ACTIVE Technology already delivers strong “keep-clean” performance. It exceeds the national inlet valve detergency standard (BIS IS 2796) by up to ten times, limiting deposits to less than 5 mg per valve compared to the permitted 50 mg. This performance has been validated using the globally recognised CEC M111 engine test and helps maintain engine efficiency when used consistently from the first fill.
The latest enhancement takes this a step further. By increasing the treat rate of ACTIVE Technology, the new petrol not only prevents fresh deposits from forming but also removes deposits that have already built up inside the engine. This added “clean-up” capability is especially valuable for vehicles that have been running on regular petrol for years.
Borescope inspections conducted on two-wheelers and four-wheelers across India reveal that inlet valve deposits are among the most common real-world engine conditions. To evaluate clean-up performance, engines with dirty inlet valves were run on ACTIVE Technology petrol and assessed through industry-standard laboratory tests as well as real-world vehicle trials.
In one demonstration, Jio-bp selected two identical two-wheelers of the same make, model, year and mileage, both with similar deposit levels. Tested at an automotive track in Coimbatore, one vehicle ran on ACTIVE Technology petrol while the other did not. Post-test inspections clearly showed cleaner inlet valves in the vehicle using ACTIVE Technology, highlighting the fuel’s ability to remove existing deposits.

These harmful deposits can be eliminated, which works towards making the combustion process efficient. This is a major factor that improves fuel efficiency. Taking into consideration the annual usage of the two-wheelers and four-wheelers in the Indian market, it can be estimated that the driving range will increase by up to 100 kilometres a year.
With the aim of making quality engine cleaning petrol accessible to every vehicle owner in India, Jio-bp, in partnership with Jio, provides the advanced engine cleaning petrol in their fuel outlets for free. Their motive here is straightforward: better fuel shouldn't be an expensive choice and every driver deserves a clean engine and a better ride.
