EKA Mobility recorded a significant rise in vehicle volumes during the first half of FY2026-27, with sales increasing to 1,786 units from 133 units in the corresponding period last year. The company reported a 1,243% year-on-year growth, taking its H1 volumes to more than 13 times the level recorded in H1 FY26.

The Pune-based electric commercial vehicle and technology company reported growth across both its Small Commercial Vehicle (SCV) and electric bus businesses during the period. The company said the performance comes as it continues to expand its electric commercial vehicle portfolio, manufacturing capabilities and presence in international markets.

SCVs Lead Volume Growth

Small Commercial Vehicles emerged as the larger contributor to EKA Mobility's H1 FY27 volumes. The company recorded 1,286 SCV units, compared with 79 units in H1 FY26, representing a 1,528% year-on-year growth.

The company's electric bus business also recorded a substantial increase during the period. EKA Mobility reported 500 buses in H1 FY27, compared with 54 units in the same period last year, translating into an 826% growth.

The company said the growth is supported by its expanding range of electric commercial vehicles. EKA Mobility has also entered the medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) truck segment during the year, adding to its existing bus and SCV portfolio.

Expanding Manufacturing and R&D Capabilities

EKA Mobility is also scaling up its manufacturing and engineering infrastructure to support its growing product portfolio.

The company currently operates two manufacturing plants in Pune, while a new mega manufacturing hub is being developed in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh. According to EKA Mobility, the upcoming facility will significantly increase its production capacity.

The company has a workforce of more than 3,000 employees, including a 500-plus member R&D team. Its engineering capabilities cover areas including vehicle design, powertrain, battery systems, electronics and software.

EKA Mobility's Founder and Chairman, Dr. Sudhir Mehta, said the company's H1 performance reflects customer adoption as well as the efforts made to build manufacturing capacity and engineering capabilities. He added that the company will continue to focus on capacity expansion and engineering as it works towards increasing the adoption of electric commercial vehicles in India.

EKA Mobility Expands Electric CV Footprint Overseas

Alongside its domestic growth, EKA Mobility is expanding its presence in international markets.

The company's electric buses have been deployed in Zanzibar, while its electric SCVs are operating on roads in Nepal. EKA Mobility is also working with local partners to establish assembly plants in Ethiopia and Australia.

The international expansion is aimed at taking the company's India-built electric commercial vehicles into additional markets and building its presence beyond India.

PLI Certification Across Product Platforms

EKA Mobility is also a Champion OEM under the Automotive Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme and has achieved PLI certification across all its product platforms.

The company said the certification reflects its focus on automotive technology, local value addition and India's manufacturing objectives.

With its H1 FY27 volume growth, expanding product portfolio and manufacturing investments, EKA Mobility is scaling its presence across multiple segments of the electric commercial vehicle market. Its portfolio currently spans electric buses, trucks and small commercial vehicles, alongside AI-powered fleet technology.
