Jupiter Electric Mobility To Debut Electric CVs At Auto Expo 2023

Latest News: Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM) to debut its all-new electric commercial vehicles (CV) at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023

Leading commercial-grade electric mobility solutions company, Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM), the EV division of Jupiter Wagons Ltd. which is renowned for the production of wagons and brake systems for passenger coaches and equipment announces that it will showcase its new range of electric commercial vehicles at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023, India’s largest biennial automobile exhibition to be held at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh from 13th January - 18th January 2023.

It has been announced by the brand that the two electric vehicles, which will be showcased at the event, will fall in the light and medium commercial vehicle categories. Further, the brand has also issued two teaser images of the electric LCV and MCV respectively. It is believed that the brand has plans to conduct production in India and establish a vast service network, especially in key markets in order to enhance its aftersales customer experience.

Moreover, the product range’s reveal does not come as a surprise since it has been a period of seven months after Jupiter Wagons entered the India EV market with Jupiter Electric Mobility, the joint venture with EA GreenPower which is a fully owned subsidiary of GreenPower Motor Company Inc- a leading American manufacturer of commercial electric vehicles. 

According to recent reports, the joint venture formation between Jupiter Wagons and GreenPower was announced back on May 23, 2022, which led to the plans of introducing select GreenPower all-electric vehicles for the Indian market.

Brendan Riley, GreenPower President had mentioned during the signing of the formation pact that “GreenPower has joined forces with Jupiter Wagon Group to bring GreenPower’s EV Star CC to the Indian Market. We are excited to work with Jupiter to integrate a right-hand-drive version of the vehicle that is already proven and popular in North America.

Both GreenPower and Jupiter believe that this zero-emission, battery electric platform is exactly what is needed for India to both provide a clean air solution and a cost-effective way to move people and goods. This collaboration leverages the proven EV prowess of GreenPower and the manufacturing and distribution strength of JWL.”

As for the details of the EV Star Cab and Chassis Right Hand Drive, the brand had mentioned that it is a multi-utility zero-emission based vehicle which features a standard battery pack of 62.5 kWh that has a payload rated 4,095 kilograms and a range of 150 kilometres. The vehicle is said to also come with an optional battery pack of 118 kWh providing a payload capacity of 3,675 kilograms and a range of 250 kilometres.
