Billion Electric Mobility (BillionE), a leading electric mobility‑as‑a‑service provider, has secured more than 250 long‑term fleet contracts for medium- and heavy‑duty commercial electric trucks in India. These contracts include trucks ranging from 12 t to 55 t gross vehicle weight, serving clients in sectors such as e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, cement, copper, steel, FMCG, automotive, and logistics.
The company is currently active in 16 cities—Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Kochi, and Visakhapatnam among them. By operating both 12 t and 55 t trucks, BillionE demonstrates capacity to meet electric mobility demands across both urban deliveries and intercity logistics.
Each contract provides full deployment solutions: electric trucks, charging infrastructure, route planning, and maintenance support via CHARGE ZONE, BillionE’s affiliate. The partner operates high‑speed chargers along major freight corridors like Delhi–Mumbai, Delhi–Bengaluru, and Coimbatore–Visakhapatnam. This integration supports electric trucks in India by ensuring uptime, reliability, and efficient fleet management.
These announcements align with the Government’s PM E‑DRIVE initiative, launched by the Ministry of Heavy Industries. The scheme earmarks ₹500 crore to subsidize nearly 5,500 electric trucks, offering up to ₹9.6 lakh per vehicle depending on battery capacity. This is India’s first national-level subsidy focused specifically on EV trucks, significantly enhancing their commercial viability.
To date, BillionE operates 60+ heavy‑duty electric trucks and aims to reach a fleet of 250 by early 2026, with a long-term ambition of 5,000 EV trucks by 2029. The company previously raised $10 million in seed equity and debt and is preparing a $15 million Pre‑Series A round, targeting a $100 million Series A by the end of 2025.
This milestone reflects a substantive shift from pilot projects to full-scale EV adoption in freight. “This milestone is more than a business achievement. It marks a tipping point for electric freight in India,” said CEO Sanjeev Kulkarni. The initiative addresses the freight sector’s emissions challenge by coupling commercial electric trucks with solid service and infrastructure.
