Mahindra Last Mile Mobility is the No.1 electric commercial vehicle manufacturer. Marking World Electric Day 2025, Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Ltd. (LMM) announced that its electric commercial vehicle fleet has collectively covered more than 4.5 billion kilometres across India.
According to the company, the use of its 2.7 lakh electric commercial vehicles has led to a reduction of over 185 kilo metric tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. This figure, the company stated, is roughly equivalent to the environmental impact of planting 4.3 million trees.
Suman Mishra, Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Ltd., said in a statement, “Affordable and accessible sustainable last mile mobility can help India achieve the twin purposes of economic growth and environmental well-being. At Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited, we are proud that our 2.7 lakh plus electric commercial vehicles have clocked 4.5 billion kilometres, preventing more than 185 kilo metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions — an impact equivalent to planting 4.3 million trees. On this World EV Day, we reaffirm our commitment to accelerating India’s last-mile electrification movement, making sustainable mobility both attainable and transformative for all.”
The company’s electric vehicles are used in a range of last-mile transport roles, including cargo delivery and urban passenger services. Mahindra LMM’s focus has been on developing electric vehicles that are cost-effective and suited to small businesses and self-employed drivers operating in city environments.
The announcement comes amid growing attention on the role of commercial vehicles in India’s transition to electric mobility. With transportation being one of the largest contributors to urban air pollution, electric alternatives—especially for last-mile delivery and urban logistics—are increasingly seen as a necessary part of emissions reduction strategies.
Mahindra LMM has been involved in building infrastructure to support electric commercial vehicles, including battery systems and charging solutions, and has seen adoption increase across several regions.
The company said it remains focused on scaling access to electric vehicles in both urban and semi-urban markets, with continued efforts to lower operational costs and reduce emissions in the transport sector.
