During the interview, K. Vijay Kumar, Executive Director & CEO of Greaves Electric Mobility, shed light on how the Xargo tackles common issues faced by three-wheelers. Notably, the risk of rollovers during sudden turns at 30-40 km/h has been mitigated by the inclusion of a double-axle system. This innovation ensures that the front and back body segments are independently supported, enhancing stability and safety.
Additionally, the Xargo offers a detachable container, allowing customization for various commercial needs, such as an ice cream stall or a mobile café. This flexibility underscores Greaves’ commitment to meeting the diverse demands of businesses.
Kumar highlighted the remarkable progress in electric commercial vehicles over the last decade. He expressed confidence in the exponential growth of EV technology and charging infrastructure, driven by advancements and government-backed initiatives.
One of the company’s exciting innovations is the plan to introduce a fast charger capable of fully charging the Xargo in just 30 minutes, making it a game-changer for urban and last-mile delivery sectors.
While the Xargo remains a concept vehicle for now, Greaves is actively working towards launching it in the market soon. With a focus on safety, adaptability, and technological advancement, the company aims to set new benchmarks in the EV industry.
