Rajasthan to Set Up its First E-Bus Manufacturing Unit in Ghilot, Kotputli-Behror

Rajasthan is going to join the electric vehicle (EV) industry with the state’s very first e-bus manufacturing facility in Ghilot, Kotputli-Behror, as a milestone towards the state's movement towards sustainable transport. This venture reflects the vision of the government towards supporting the green mobility solutions and establishing a solid EV manufacturing ecosystem in the region. 

This new facility will primarily be used for the manufacture of electric buses for urban and intercity routes. The buses will be equipped with energy-efficient tech, advanced safety features and eco-friendly designs to bring down the carbon footprint of the state. Government officials mentioned that the project is set to generate hundreds of direct and indirect jobs, while also improving the industrial growth in the Kotputli-Behror region at the same time.

Industry experts believe that the establishment of this manufacturing unit positions Rajasthan in India’s growing electric vehicle market very strategically. By making use of local resources, skilled labor and the existing industrial corridors, the state aims to smoothen production and distribution processes for a nationwide supply chain. The facility is also expected to attract further investments for renewable transport and enhance the region’s technological innovation capabilities.

The state government of Rajasthan highlighted that the project is in line with the national clean energy adoption and carbon pollution reduction priorities. Through the encouragement of green public transport, the initiative aims to solve urban congestion, reduce pollution and serve as an example for other states. .

In addition, the project is expected to level up Rajasthan's EV infrastructure and provide a hub for research, development and testing of innovative electric mobility solutions not only for the state but also for the rest of the country. Observers add that Rajasthan's step is well-timed as India is experiencing a surge in the demand for EV public transport. By placing the factory in Kotputli-Behror, the state will have the advantage of an easy access to major highways, industrial parks and logistic routes, making distribution and supply chain management more effective. 

The government assumes the plant to be an economic growth driver for the region, promoting tech-driven manufacturing and long-term sustainable transportation efforts. As the state is set to host its first e-bus manufacturing facility, Rajasthan now leads the way in blending environmental responsibility with industrial development.
