EcoFuel Systems (India) Ltd., a leading company in clean fuel solutions, has won a ₹66 crore order to convert 850 diesel buses to CNG in Tamil Nadu. This project is part of the state’s plan to make public transport cleaner and greener. It is expected to reduce around 5.7 lakh tonnes of CO₂ emissions every year.
The work will be completed in the next 12 months, making Tamil Nadu one of the top states in India for sustainable public transport. After this order, EcoFuel Systems’ total converted buses in India will cross 1,500, showing the company’s strong position in diesel-to-CNG conversions.
EcoFuel will retrofit buses at different State Transport Depots across Tamil Nadu using certified CNG kits. With over 20 years of experience, the company makes sure every bus is safe, reliable, and fuel-efficient. Mr. Virendra Vora, Founder and Chairman of EcoFuel, said, “We are proud to get this order. Tamil Nadu’s decision to switch diesel buses to CNG shows their commitment to clean transport. Our technology not only lowers pollution but also saves money for transport operators. We look forward to making public transport greener and better for everyone.”
This project supports India’s National Green Mobility Mission, which aims to switch public transport fleets to low emission fuel by 2030. CNG conversions are an affordable and practical way to reduce pollution without the high cost of electric buses.
