TVS Motor will launch a new electric 3-wheeler by December. The company confirmed the plan during its first-quarter earnings call. This move will boost its presence in the passenger commercial vehicle market.
“There are products which will be ready for launch in the next quarter, which include an electric two-wheeler and three-wheeler,” said KN Radhakrishnan, Director and CEO, TVS Motor Company.
This will be the second electric 3-wheeler from the company. TVS entered the segment earlier this year with the King EV Max, priced at ₹2.95 lakh. The vehicle received strong demand across several markets. TVS now plans to scale the platform further.
“TVS King EV is getting a very positive response in the market. We will be scaling it further. We will have a prominent space in the electric three-wheeler category this year,” Radhakrishnan said.
TVS has already built a wide sales and service network for electric 3-wheelers. It now covers about 70% of the Indian market. This gives the company a strong foundation for growth in this segment.
The upcoming model will likely serve auto rickshaw and shared mobility markets. The focus is on better range, strong uptime, and competitive running costs.
TVS wants to offer better options to both individual drivers and fleet operators. In this market, rickshaw price matters as much as reliability. The company is expected to position the new vehicle with that in mind.
The demand for electric rickshaws and 3-wheelers has grown quickly in 2025. Cleaner fuels and cost savings are big drivers. More state governments are adding EV support policies.
TVS, with its fast rollout and service network, is gaining ground. The King EV Max made a strong start, and this second model should build on that base.
This will also help the company compete with other major commercial vehicle makers in India. Companies like Bajaj Auto and Piaggio have also expanded their electric three-wheeler lines.
TVS is focused on its 3-wheeler category and is central to its EV plans. One model is already on the road. Another is weeks away. Together, they will help TVS push deeper into electric passenger commercial vehicles, a space with big growth ahead.
