Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) has launched Swayamgati, the world’s first production ready autonomous electric three wheeler. Bookings are now open, and the passenger version is priced at ₹4 lakh, while a cargo version will be available soon at ₹4.15 lakh. This launch is a big step for India’s electric vehicle industry.
Swayamgati is powered by an electric battery that can run up to 120 km on a single charge. It comes with AI technology, Lidar, GPS and obstacle detection, which helps the vehicle move safely without a driver in airports, industrial hubs, smart campuses and busy city areas.
Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of OSM, said, “Swayamgati is more than a vehicle—it is the future of transportation in India. Autonomous vehicles are not just ideas for the future; we need them today. With this launch, India is leading the way.”
Vivek Dhawan, Chief Strategy Officer at OSM, added, “Swayamgati is the result of years of research. Our goal is to make autonomous vehicles available to everyone. This vehicle brings smart mobility into daily life in India.”
The vehicle has successfully completed Phase 1 testing on a 3km route with seven stops. It was able to detect obstacles and carry passengers safely without any human help. Now, OSM has started Phase 2 for commercial use in controlled areas.
Swayamgati is created for Indian roads, traffic and for use in different terrains. It is fully electric and emits no pollution and has relatively lower costs of operation which makes it realistic and environmentally friendly for towns and industrial areas.
Swayamgati is different because it combine smart technology with practicality and affordability. It is able to safely navigate its environment with AI, Lidar and GPS navigation, while attending to city traffic and road conditions and no emissions while running off purely electric energy. Affordable at ₹4 lakh, Swayamgati is accessible to a much of the potential user group. It can also be utilized are suited to airport transport, run in an industrial zone, or utilized in a transport service for businesses.
OSM is already selling multiple types of electric three wheelers and commercial vehicles in India. They are also working to produce CNG vehicles and electric two wheelers. OSM has the intention to manufacture 1,500 autonomous vehicles in the next two years, with support from its 200+ dealerships and service centers throughout India.
OSM has manufacturing plants in Faridabad and Chakan (Pune) and they also have an assembly plant in Dubai. They are ready to service customers in Asia and Africa, as well.
