EKA Rolls Out 10 Electric Waste Tippers in Goa

On World Environment Day, EKA Mobility deployed 10 electric garbage tippers in Goa. Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant flagged off the vehicles in Sankhali, marking a shift toward cleaner waste handling.

The electric tippers, now serving under Sankhali Municipal Council (SMC) , will collect municipal waste daily. These trucks run silently, emit zero pollutants, charge fully in 6–8 hours, and can carry up to 1,000 kg of waste. Other specs include a 32 kWh lithium ferrous phosphate (LFP) battery, a top speed of 80 km/h, and a range of 180 km per charge. These features make them practical for everyday municipal duties.

EKA Mobility, through this move, aims to change how waste moves in cities. Rohit Srivastava, business head and chief growth officer, emphasized this idea. “At EKA, we believe sustainability begins at the street level, in the everyday services that define our cities. This deployment with SMC is a model for how municipalities can embrace innovation to serve both people and the planet,” he said.

SMC Chairperson Siddhi S Prabhu Porob and former Chairperson Rashmi Dilip Desai echoed that view. “This partnership with EKA Mobility marks a pivotal moment in Sankhali’s journey towards cleaner, greener governance. These electric tippers will enhance the efficiency of waste collection and reflect our commitment to responsible and progressive urban development,” they jointly stated.
