Pickup trucks, known as "pickups," hold iconic status in countries such as America. However, in recent years, these rugged vehicles have grown popular in India. They have carved out a niche in the Indian automotive market. Mahindra pickup trucks are a popular and famous line of vehicles made by Mahindra and Mahindra.

Last month, 91 trucks made a video about the new Mahindra vehicle launch. Now, in September 2024, various sources have said that the vehicle will be named Veero. It seems to have a PV engine from Bolero and Bolero Neo. Based on some YouTube videos, this pickup truck is inspired by SUV design. It bears a new design and will have many variants. It will directly clash with the likes of the Tata Intra range and Ashok Leyland Dost range. This vehicle will be crucial. It will bridge the gap between Mahindra's small commercial vehicles, the Jeeto and Supro, and its pickups, the Bolero Pik-up and Maxx. Veero's forward control design will give it a small turning radius. So, it will be very maneuverable in the city.

Back look of Mahindra's new pickup

Payload capacity starts from 1.5 tonnes and goes to 1.6 tonnes. Also, the truck's variants depend on its load bed size, labeled XL and XXL. Another factor affecting the variants seems to be the suspension. It falls under the categories of SD and HD. The new Mahindra Veero comes with a 1493cc engine that delivers 80 bhp of power at 3200 rpm. This might very well be the same 1493cc 3-cylinder diesel unit that powers the Bolero and Bolero Neo.

The fascia has two colors. Black and white. For fresh air to the radiator and engine, the vehicle has a grill. The headlight is quite big. Another YouTube channel, "Road Motor," says the pickup has 15-inch tires (195R15). It looks like the bumper is made of plastic. There has been space left for fog lights. The spare tyre has been placed in the middle for better weight distribution. The interior has a 4-spoke steering wheel. It also has a digital instrument cluster and a well-designed cabin. Ample space is available for storing goods, and both sides have installed sun visors. It appears that the windows are not automatic. Although there is no air conditioning option, it might be available in another model. A window is also installed at the back to allow the driver to keep an eye on the cargo.

The Indian pickup truck market has experienced considerable growth due to many factors. It will be interesting to see how the audience embraces this new vehicle.
