The Ashok Leyland Dost CNG is an environmentally friendly, light commercial vehicle tailored for urban goods transport. It runs on CNG, ensuring reduced emissions and lower fuel costs, making it an economical choice for businesses looking to adopt greener alternatives. The Ashok Leyland Dost CNG gets the same 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which powers a few other versions in the Dost range of small commercial vehicles from Ashok Leyland. Here, the engine gets CNG treatment, with the claims of a maximum power output of 45 PS and a peak torque output of 105 Nm. The engine here is coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox with cable shift and claims a full tank range of 320 km.

The Ashok Leyland Dost CNG comes assembled with a suspension combination of rigid parabolic leaf springs with double-acting shock absorbers at the front, while the rear has semi-elliptical over-slung suspension. The Ashok Leyland Dost CNG comes equipped with 185 R14 tyres wrapped over 14-inch steel wheels. The Ashok Leyland Dost CNG gets vacuum-assisted hydraulic brakes with LSPV, with the front getting discs and the rear getting drum brakes.

The Ashok Leyland Dost CNG takes forward the design language of the previous-generation Dost (still available as Dost Lite) in a mildly-executed facelift. The Dost CNG looks rugged with the black applique present between the large headlamps on the far stretched corners. This black applique has the logos of Ashok Leyland finished in chrome. The headlamps here look large and come in-built with L-shaped turn indicators on their outer edges. The frontal part of the Ashok Leyland Dost CNG has a protruding out design, which makes it look even longer than it is.

The Ashok Leyland Dost CNG is available in two variants, LE and LS. While the LE variant has a grey interior theme, the LS variant has a dual-tone grey and beige theme for the cabin. The Ashok Leyland Dost CNG has a two-spoke steering wheel with a fully-digital instrument console behind it. The wide centre console of the Ashok Leyland Dost CNG packs in rounded AC vents and a music system in the middle, while the lower centre console also looks wider with controls for manual AC placed on it.

The LE variant of the Ashok Leyland Dost CNG has a grey interior theme, while the more premium LS variant has a slightly richer-looking grey and beige theme.

For its positioning, the Ashok Leyland Dost CNG gets a few feel-good features like manual AC, fully-digital instrument console, 1-DIN audio system, tubeless tyres and ELR seat belts. Both the variants of the Ashok Leyland Dost CNG can also be fitted with optional fog lamps. The LE variant misses out on power steering, though.
