The Ashok Leyland Dost CNG gets the same 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which powers a few other versions in the Dost range of small commercial vehicles from Ashok Leyland. Here, the engine gets CNG treatment, with the claims of a maximum power output of 45 PS and a peak torque output of 105 Nm. The Ashok Leyland Dost CNG takes forward the design language of the previous-generation Dost (still available as Dost Lite) in a mildly-executed facelift. The Dost CNG looks rugged with the black applique present between the large headlamps on the far stretched corners. This black applique has the logos of Ashok Leyland finished in chrome. The headlamps here look large and come in-built with L-shaped turn indicators on their outer edges. The frontal part of the Ashok Leyland Dost CNG has a protruding out design, which makes it look even longer than it is.

The Ashok Leyland Dost CNG is available in two variants, LE and LS. While the LE variant has a grey interior theme, the LS variant has a dual-tone grey and beige theme for the cabin.
