The Tata T.16 Ultra SL is one of the new-generation medium-duty trucks from Tata Motors, which comes standard with a 3.0-litre diesel engine across three variants, all of which differ based on their wheelbases. The Tata T.16 Ultra SL is available in CAB and HSD versions and claims 244 PS of power and 590 Nm of torque.&nbsp;

The Tata T.16 Ultra SL has a 5.0-litre 5LNG series diesel engine, which is paired with a transmission unit comprising a 6-speed G750 manual gearbox and a 352mm single-plate dry friction clutch. While this engine produces a maximum power output of 244 PS of maximum power, its peak torque output is rated at 590 Nm.

The Tata T.16 Ultra SL comes with a 5.0-litre diesel engine, which is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox and produces 244 PS of power and 590 Nm of torque outputs. 

The Tata T.16 Ultra SL comes armed with a suspension combination of parabolic leaf springs at the front and semi-elliptical leaf springs at the rear, both of which are accompanied by hydraulic double-acting shock absorbers. The Tata T.16 Ultra SL rides on 275/80R22.5 tyres all around and comes with full S-cam air-operated service brakes and graduated valve-controlled spring brakes with drum brakes for the parking brake.

The Tata T.16 Ultra SL comes equipped with 275/80R22.5 tyres with parabolic leaf springs at the front and semi-elliptical leaf springs at the rear. 

The Tata T.16 Ultra SL is available in three wheelbase versions &ndash; 4920mm, 5300mm and 5560mm, all of which are offered in both CAB and HSD variants. The truck measures 8570-9945mm in length, 2440mm in width and 2632-3084mm in height. While the gross vehicle weight of the Tata T.16 Ultra SL is 16190 kg, the minimum ground clearance of the truck is 228mm. The maximum payload capacity of the Tata T.16 Ultra SL is rated at 10537 kg.

Available in three wheelbase versions, all of which are offered with both CAB and HSD body styles, the Tata T.16 Ultra SL has a maximum payload capacity of 10537 kg.

While the Tata T.16 Ultra SL has promising specifications of almost a full-size heavy-duty truck, its stance makes us believe that it is a proper medium-duty truck. The Tata T.16 Ultra SL has a compact-looking apron below the wide windscreen, the lower corners of which are accommodated by large all-halogen headlamps which have a vertical arrangement for the lights and curved outer edges. The all-black metal bumper of the Tata T.16 Ultra SL comes with fog lamps integrated into them.

The compact front fascia of the Tata T.16 Ultra SL comes adorned with rather large-sized headlamps with curved inner edges. 

Tata Motors has kept the overall design of the T.16 Ultra SL quite simple and basic, which is evident in the layout and simple-looking grey theme for the entire cabin. The cabin of the Tata T.16 Ultra SL has a four-spoke steering wheel, a compact housing for the instrument console and a rectangular-themed centre console with square-edged housings for the switch panels, music system and AC vents.

The cabin of the Tata T.16 Ultra SL looks quite basic with square-edged panels and a grey layout for the dashboard. 

The Tata T.16 Ultra SL feels basic when it comes to equipment levels, as it gets only the essentials like a tilt adjustable steering wheel, power steering, manual AC and an audio system.

The standard features of the E Tata T.16 Ultra SL include manual AC, an audio system, and a power steering system with tilt-adjustability for the steering wheel.
