• Engine and Performance

  The Tata 710 LPT shares its tried and tested 4SPCR 3.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine with the very popular 407 Gold SFC. Here too, the choice of transmission is a G400 5-speed manual gearbox. The engine sees no change in its performance numbers and produces a maximum power output of 100 PS and a maximum torque output of 300 Nm. The clutch employed in this engine is a 280mm diameter single plate dry friction type clutch.

• Suspension and Brakes

  The suspension setup of Tata 407 Gold SFC comprises a semi-elliptical multi-leaf spring, 2 no hydraulic double-acting shock absorbers at the front and semi-elliptical multi-leaf spring, 2 no hydraulic double-acting shock absorbers along with auxiliary springs at the rear. Both the front and rear tyres of Tata 710 LPT measure 8.25x16 16PR.

• Exterior

  The overall design of the Tata 710 LPT cannot be termed as fresh or new-age, as we have been seeing this design for a long time now. However, the overall design looks purposeful for a light-duty truck. The rectangular influence in the design of the Tata 710 LPT is visible in the layout of all the aspects of the front profile, including the windscreen, front apron, front grille and headlamps. The lower half of the front profile, where the grille and headlamps are placed, is completely covered in black plastic.

  The Tata 710 LPT has a boxy appeal in its overall design and is a familiar sight on Indian roads now.

• Interior

  The interior layout of the Tata 710 LPT looks very dated but is functional to the core. The dashboard has an edgy layout, which looks too basic and feels built to a cost. The driver’s cockpit of the 710 LPT, which comprises a four-spoke steering wheel and instrument console with an LCD MID in between, somehow manages to be the only decent-looking part of the cabin. The dashboard, however, looks extremely basic, with the driver-facing centre console having a plain layout and is covered only with switches.

  The interior layout of the Tata 710 LPT looks very basic, with the grey-themed cabin having a lack of modernity in it.

• Features

  The Tata 710 LPT is a built-to-cost light-duty truck purely for those who keep their basic duties of transportation over anything else. It only gets a tilt and telescopic adjustable power steering and a 1-DIN audio system as its only talked-about comfort features.

  The only features available in the cabin of the Tata 710 LPT are a music system and tilt and telescopic adjustability for the steering.
