The Tata 1512 LPT gets a 3.3-litre four-cylinder water-cooled, direct-injection diesel engine, mated to a 5-speed GBS-40 manual gearbox. The Tata 1512 LPT is one of the most familiar-looking medium-duty commercial trucks, for its design has remained almost unchanged since its launch a long time back. The upper half of the front profile of the Tata 1512 LPT has a slanted design, which is fully covered by a large rectangular windscreen. The lower half of the front profile has a vertical design, which has a blacked-out finish for the entire surface. This lower front fascia gets T-shaped mesh for the grille, while the lower corners get rectangular headlamps.
