New Trucks and Buses

VECV, the venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, marked World EV Day 2025 with new entries in its electric vehicle range. The Eicher Pro X Small Truck, the Eicher 2055 EV, and the Skyline Pro Electric bus are now in service. They run in Indian cities for schools, airports, staff duty and city rides.

Renewable Energy Progress

The company said 42 percent of its energy now comes from renewable sources. Its 75 MW captive solar power drives this growth. The target is 70 percent by FY27. The Bhopal plant is equipped with industry 4.0 tools and AI-Based energy  monitoring systems. A 52-million-litre rainwater tank supports operations for four months. The goal is water positivity by 2030.

Charging Network Access

VECV has linked with Charging Point Operators. This lets Eicher customers use thousands of chargers across India. The tie-up reduces range concerns and supports the move to commercial vehicles powered by electricity.

Beyond Electric

VECV has also invested in CNG, LNG, hydrogen combustion (H2ICE) and hydrogen fuel cell technology. The company has a history of early moves, such as the rollout of BS-VI vehicles in 2019.

Conclusion

By launching the new VECV electric vehicle model, VECV solidified its position as the leader in sustainable mobility. On the World Electricity Day 2025, the company revealed the progress on the trucks, buses and alternative fuel technologies that will shape the future of commercial vehicles in India.
