Bajaj Compact RE Detailed Overview

• Powertrain and Performance

  The Bajaj Compact RE is available in a choice of four single-cylinder, oil-cooled, engine options. First is the 470.5 cc diesel engine, which produces 8.37 hp of maximum power. The 236.2cc petrol engine is available in three versions – pure petrol, CNG and LPG. While the pure petrol version’s engine produces 10.2 hp of maximum power, the CNG and LPG versions’ engine produces 9.25 hp of maximum power. In all four versions of Bajaj Compact RE, a 4-speed manual gearbox is offered as the standard transmission.

• Suspension and Brakes

  The suspension combination employed in the Bajaj Auto Rickshaw includes a single-sided hydraulic fork at the front and coil springs at the rear. A setup of drum brakes at both front and rear is offered as standard in the Compact RE.

The Bajaj Auto Rickshaw has a kerb weight of 708 kg while having a maximum permissible payload capacity of 398 kg, which makes it a good workhorse for its size.

• Exterior and Interior

  The Bajaj Compact RE takes forward the iconic design of the old-generation Auto Rickshaw and introduces a few tweaks to it, which makes it look more aggressive than before. The front profile of the Compact RE now looks more wholesome with the heavy-looking black garnish in the middle. This muscular-looking T-shaped black panel accommodates rounded halogen headlamps on the corners. This black panel flows down towards the front wheel fender, which is body-coloured here. The turn indicators are placed below the corners of the slightly curved windshield.
  The Bajaj Compact RE has a soft top over its tubular frame, with the interior of the three-wheeled auto-rickshaw having a flat bench for three people. The Compact RE also comes with body-coloured lockable side door panels and slightly flared wheel arches for which Auto Rickshaw insurance can be bought. At the back, the Bajaj Compact RE gets vertically-aligned small tail lamps, with a meshed grille in the middle behind its powertrain. 

  Summary

  The chief highlight of the Bajaj Compact RE is the muscular-looking T-shaped black panel, which gets twin halogen rounded headlamps in its corners.

  The basic-looking Bajaj Auto Rickshaw price is not only affordable but comes with essentials like rounded rearview mirrors, a motorcycle-like handlebar with a driver seat at the front and a flat bench at the rear, a compact rounded instrument console and a provision for the music system.

  Summary

  The Compact RE comes equipped with rounded rear view mirrors and a rounded instrument console with analogue gauges, apart from the provision for the music system.
