India, May 14, 2025 — GreenCell Mobility, a leading name in electric public transportation, has secured a landmark order to supply and deploy more than 1,200 electric buses under the Central Government’s ambitious PM E-Bus Sewa Scheme. The contract significantly expands the company’s footprint in India’s rapidly growing clean mobility sector and marks a major leap toward a zero-emission future for urban transport.
Under the terms of the Letter of Award (LOA), GreenCell will deploy 472 Eicher electric buses across six cities in Madhya Pradesh, in partnership with VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV). In addition, it has tied up with Pinnacle Mobility Solutions (EKA Mobility) to deliver 750 electric buses across eleven cities in Andhra Pradesh.
GreenCell Mobility, backed by Eversource Capital, is also building charging infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted operations. With 900 electric buses already running across Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra, the new deployments in Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh will deepen the company’s presence and push India closer to its clean transportation goals.
Mr. Devndra Chawla, MD & CEO of GreenCell Mobility, expressed pride in the milestone:
"GreenCell Mobility is honored to collaborate with the Governments of Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh to support the state’s transition to sustainable public transport. These projects are a major milestone in our mission to transform mass mobility through zero-emission electric buses. Backed by strategic partnerships with leading OEMs and a robust financing model, we are committed to making clean, efficient public transportation accessible throughout India's growing cities—while delivering a safe, reliable, and superior guest experience."
For Madhya Pradesh, GreenCell’s partner VE Commercial Vehicles is deploying its tried-and-tested Eicher electric buses, which have already clocked over 1.4 crore kilometers across India. Mr. Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO of VECV, shared:

These buses are built on reliable technology and have already clocked 1.4 crore kms across India. It is a matter of pride for us that these buses will operate in the state of Madhya Pradesh which has been home to Eicher Trucks and Buses for over four decades. We thank the Government of Madhya Pradesh and GreenCell Mobility for partnering with us to introduce eco-friendly public transportation.”
EKA Mobility, part of Pinnacle Industries Limited, will support the Andhra Pradesh rollout. Dr. Sudhir Mehta, Founder & Chairman of EKA Mobility, commented:
