SML Isuzu Limited reported June 2025 sales of 1,871 vehicles, a 6.3% increase over the 1,760 units sold in June 2024, according to a regulatory filing submitted on July 1 to both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

The sales growth came mainly from cargo vehicles, which rose 41.6% year over year to 480 units, compared to 339 units last June. In contrast, passenger vehicle volumes slipped 2.1%, down to 1,391 units from 1,421 units a year ago.

In the first quarter of the fiscal year 2025–26, covering April to June, the company sold 4,926 vehicles, up 12.5% from 4,379 units in the same period last year. During the quarter, cargo vehicle sales rose 46.3%, reaching 1,282 units, while passenger vehicle sales grew 4.0%, climbing to 3,644 units from 3,503.

SML Isuzu manufactures and markets light and medium commercial vehicles in India. It operates as a joint venture between Sumitomo Corporation of Japan and Isuzu Motors Limited. The company is listed under scrip code 505192 on the BSE and under symbol SML ISUZU on the NSE.

This update was released under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, which requires listed firms to disclose all material operational developments. The filing was signed by Parvesh Madan, the company’s secretary and compliance officer.

The sharp rise in cargo vehicle demand shows strong traction in India’s commercial vehicle (CV) market, especially in the truck sales segment. Although passenger vehicle sales experienced a slight decline in June, both the passenger and cargo vehicle categories contributed to the company’s positive quarterly trend.

With consistent growth in the cargo category, SML Isuzu’s performance reflects ongoing demand across key transport segments. As market conditions evolve, the company remains well-positioned in the competitive Indian auto industry, particularly in the commercial vehicle space.
