As mentioned earlier, Mahindra Imperio comes equipped with Mahindra’s DI, BS6 compliant 4-cylinder, common-rail diesel engine that generates 75 HP (56 kW) of power and 220 Nm of torque, mated to 5-speed manual transmission. The vehicle gets an Eco Switch which is a fuel-smart technology for getting the best fuel efficiency figures. In addition to this, the vehicle gets decent gradeability which enables the Imperio to climb steep terrain efficiently even with cargo onboard. The vehicle also comes equipped with an efficient manual steering system that not only lessens the steering effort but also makes manoeuvring the vehicle much easier.

The vehicle performs efficiently and has an ample amount of power. In addition to this, the vehicle is quite easy to manoeuvre.
The Mahindra Imperio comes fitted with Independent Double Wishbone Coil Springs with anti-roll bar in the front and leaf springs at the rear. The suspension setup of the Imperio is pliant. Mahindra has managed to provide a well-balanced suspension setup that is neither floaty nor stiff. They perform extremely well under tension and provide decent comfort for the driver and passengers. Both the front as well as rear suspension easily evens out the small bumps on the road when the vehicle is moving at low speeds. At higher speeds, the driver of the Imperio could feel well connected with the road thanks to the well-weighted steering setup that also helps in decent high-speed stability.
As for the brakes, the front end is equipped with disc brakes while the rear comes fitted with drum brakes. They function efficiently even in wet weather conditions.
