• Engine and Performance

  As mentioned earlier, Mahindra Imperio comes equipped with Mahindra’s DI, BS6 compliant 4-cylinder, common-rail diesel engine that generates 75 HP (56 kW) of power and 220 Nm of torque, mated to 5-speed manual transmission. The vehicle gets an Eco Switch which is a fuel-smart technology for getting the best fuel efficiency figures. In addition to this, the vehicle gets decent gradeability which enables the Imperio to climb steep terrain efficiently even with cargo onboard. The vehicle also comes equipped with an efficient manual steering system that not only lessens the steering effort but also makes manoeuvring the vehicle much easier.

  The vehicle performs efficiently and has an ample amount of power. In addition to this, the vehicle is quite easy to manoeuvre.

• Suspension and Brakes

  The Mahindra Imperio comes fitted with Independent Double Wishbone Coil Springs with anti-roll bar in the front and leaf springs at the rear. The suspension setup of the Imperio is pliant. Mahindra has managed to provide a well-balanced suspension setup that is neither floaty nor stiff. They perform extremely well under tension and provide decent comfort for the driver and passengers. Both the front as well as rear suspension easily evens out the small bumps on the road when the vehicle is moving at low speeds. At higher speeds, the driver of the Imperio could feel well connected with the road thanks to the well-weighted steering setup that also helps in decent high-speed stability. 

  As for the brakes, the front end is equipped with disc brakes while the rear comes fitted with drum brakes. They function efficiently even in wet weather conditions.

  The Mahindra Imperio measures 5,280mm in length and has a wheelbase of 3,220mm. The load body of the vehicle is measured 2,570mm x 1,745mm (Length x Breadth). The Imperio has a Gross Vehicle Weight of 2,990kg. The payload capacity is different for each variant. The SC, SC VX, DC and DC VX  variants have  1,240 kg, 1,220 kg, 1,090 kg and 1,070 kg respectively.

  Summary

  The vehicle has decent ground clearance, so driving over the bad sections of roads would not be a tough ordeal.

  The Imperio gets a spacious and practical cabin. In addition to the adjustable driver's seat, it also gets a power-assisted steering wheel, a factory-fitted music system, and lots of storage spaces. Apart from these, this lifestyle pickup truck also features a factory-fitted AC, a digital/Analogue instrument cluster and a charging port.
